HND – BUILDING SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY

The Higher National Diploma (HND) in Building Science Technology is a specialized program designed to provide students with a strong foundation in the principles and practices of building design, construction, and management. This program bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, preparing graduates to address the challenges of modern construction and infrastructure development.

1. Building Technology and Construction Techniques

2. Structural Design and Analysis

  • – Structural Principles: Introduction to the fundamentals of structural behavior and design.
  • – Reinforced Concrete and Steel Design: Designing structures using concrete and steel materials.
  • – Structural Analysis: Methods for analyzing forces, moments, and displacements in structures like beams, slabs, and frames.

 

3. Building Regulations and Compliance

  • – Building Codes and Standards: Study of local and international building regulations and codes.
  • – Health and Safety: Focus on safety standards, risk assessment, and compliance on construction sites.
  • – Construction Law: Understanding legal issues, contracts, and obligations in the building industry.

  • – Sustainable Construction: Study of environmentally conscious building practices, including energy efficiency and sustainable materials.

  • – a certified copy of ordinary GCE level 
  • – a certified copy of advanced level/result slip
